Richard Jefferson

President

Richard began Light For The Future Ministries to bring a better life for the children who live in Guatemala’s Basurero. Richard served for 20 years in the Navy. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for 5 years as a government contractor. He is a high school math teacher, and he taught at the Christian Academy of Guatemala. He now teaches at the Savannah Christian Preparatory School. He has a Master’s Degree in Education. He has a passion for seeing children learn.

Melissa Jefferson

Vice President

Melissa started Light For the Future Ministries to bring the love of Christ to the children in Guatemala City’s Basurero. Melissa and Richard lived as Missionaries in Guatemala for 4 years. They began working in the Basurero in 2013. They have three grown children. Melissa has been an Applied Behavioral Therapist working with children with autism. She was a teacher’s assistant, and an Elementary art teacher at the Christian Academy of Guatemala. She loves children, and is so blessed to be a part of educating the children in Guatemala

Guatemalan Director

The in-country director for the Light For The Future Ministries. She runs the day-to-day operations of the ministries. She is the principal of the the new school.

Kyle Garrison

Board Member

Pastor Kyle Garrison was raised in Savannah, GA and has served in youth ministry and worship teams throughout South Carolina and Georgia with Baptist, Methodist, Assemblies of God, Church of God, and non-denominational churches. Kyle obtained his degree of theology from Beacon University’s Christian Life School of Theology and has served in part-time ministry positions since 2003 and in full time ministry since 2006. God began to give Kyle a vision to start a church that was Kingdom focused and with a team of 2 couples, Pastor Kyle founded Relentless Church in 2014. Kyle has been ordained through Redemption Ministerial Fellowship International (RMFI) with Apostle Ron Carpenter and has been commissioned under Dutch Sheet with Network Ekklesia International. He has a heart to see people being empowered in their gifts and abilities to accomplish their purpose as citizens of the Kingdom of God throughout the city of Savannah, the United States, and the world.

Randy and Ann Robertson

Board Members

Randy and Ann Robertson live in Savannah, GA. They love God and consider it a blessing and a privilege to be associated with Light to the Future. Randy is a pilot and Ann is a retired choir director. They have one son.

Carroll's Profile Picture

Carroll Williams

Board Member

Carroll Williams worked in the Diagnostic Pharmaceutical industry but spent many of her years in ministry and missions. She worked with Samaritan’s Purse in S.E. Asia in relief work after the tsunami in 2004.

She has lead teams to Haiti, Guatemala, Tanzania and Cameroon. She was Assistant Director for an orphanage in Guatemala when she met Richard and Melissa Jefferson. She volunteered with Light for the Future in Guatemala City during the years that she lived Guatemala.

Her passion is working with the least of the least in developing countries. She raised two boys and has mentored children in many countries around the world. She now is helping take care of her 93-year-old father. She is excited to share her knowledge of nonprofit ministry work with Light for the Future.
