Dear Friends and Family,

We pray that Christmas was a blessed time for you, celebrating the birth of Jesus with friends and family!

Ending a year and starting a new year is like completing a chapter of a book and turning the page. Well, we have completed this chapter called 2021 and are starting a new chapter called 2022. We are excited to see how God will use this ministry to further His kingdom. We welcome 2022.

God blessed Light For The Future Ministries with an AWESOME 2021, even with the pandemic. In January, we started a virtual school for thirteen of our High School students. Since the students were doing their lessons online, they spent January learning how to create word documents and spreadsheets to turn in their assignments. The students had an outstanding year and earned an overall average of 91. They took three field trips, received over 225 hours of English lessons. This year is by far the greatest academic year for these students.

Since the school was online, the students were expanding their education through creative methods. Once a week the students had Art class from, Katherine, who lived in Jacksonville. Also, they received their Music class from Ann, who lived in Savannah. Every day an American living in Guatemala, Gwen, taught them English.

Other students, who are not at our school, were struggling to learn from homework packets their school gave them to learn from. To help these struggling students, we were able to hire a tutor. These students would not have been able to successfully pass the school year without this extra help. In addition, we continued our regular English and Bible classes for the younger students.

After the school year ended in October, they had other activities. They are learning how God blesses them by all that He gives them this year, they are sharing that blessing with others. They planned and executed a one-day Vacation Bible school in another part of Guatemala. They were excited to share the message of Jesus’s love with other children.
In November, the older students went to camp. They had an exciting time with other children. They played games, swam in the pool, and had fun. They also deepened their walk with Christ and learned more about His love for them.

We pray that 2022 will be a better year for us all. We are SO thankful for you, and your continued prayers and support for our ministry in Guatemala. May God continue to RICHLY bless you for your support of our ministry! We could not do what we do without EACH one of you!

Dios te Bendiga,
Richard and Melissa Jefferson
